Peacefull as the Eye of the Storm

During the Covid lockdown of 2020, I frantically produced swirled forms representing the storm raging all around, while we (the lucky ones) were locked safely at home. Those vessels were white on the outside and electric ultramarine blue inside. The addition of thin coils of clay surrounded the vessels’ rims protectively.

Convergence of Storms

Long rolled coils of clay grouped and knotted into ties, then grounded heavily on hollow sealed spherical pieces. A closed form has to bend or indent, it’s hollows making room for the outer storm to blend and merge with the inner storm. Inner and outer storms converge.

 Orbs in Orbit

A small series that initiated my story with clay.  Following orbits of spherical elements in the solar system, I create a Serie of consecutively growing round clay vessels. Each related to fear, anxiety from the unknown, hoping that alignment of will evoke order and control.
